Abstract:Objective To investigate the application value and feasibility of puncture and drainage in the minimally invasive treatment for lactation breast abscess. Methods A total of 82 outpatients diagnosed with lactation breast abscess were selected from March,2008 to October,2014,Among them,47 patients were treated with puncture and drainage(observation group),and others were treated with incision drainage(control group).Statistical Methods were used to analyze if there were differences between these two groups in terms of the intraoperative pain(Wilcoxon test),the time of antibiotic usage (t test)and wound healing(t test),the satisfaction of patients' breast appearance (Wilcoxon test),the rate of recurrence (t test). Results The intraoperative pain in observation group was lower than control group(t=3.16,P<0.05),the time of wound healing in observation group was obviously shorter than control group(11.98 d vs 21.97d,t=2.767,P<0.05),patients in the observation group were more satisfied with their breast appearance compared with control group(t=2.63,P<0.05),while the time of antibiotic usage between two groups were no statistical significance (3.34 d vs 3.26d,t=0.048,P=0.636>0.05).All of two groups had no recurrence. Conclusion Puncture and drainage has the advantages of simple operation, less pain, rapid recovery, small scar and no extra antibiotic usage for lactation breast abscess patients.
