Abstract:Objective To compare the clinical application of traditional Chinese medicine combined with western medicine in the treat -ment of vascular dementia after cerebral infarction .Methods From March, 2013 to March, 2016, 84 patients with vascular dementia after cerebral infarction were randomly divided into control group and experimental group .Each group was consisted of 42 patients. The control group patients were treated with single western medicine ( Edaravone injection +Shuxuetong injection ) , and the patients in the experimental group were treated with the combination therapy of traditional Chinese medicine and western medicine ( edaravone injection +shuxuetong in-jection).The daily living ability, quality of life, status of two groups were compared. Results The daily living ability of the control group and the experimental group were (32.08 ±9.43) and (32.13 ±9.88) respectively, and the difference was not significant (P>0.05).Af-ter treatment, the daily living ability score of the control group decreased (5.53 ±1.54), which was significantly lower than that of the ex-perimental group (8.87 ±1.82) (P<0.05).There was no significant difference in quality of life between the two groups before treatment (P>0.05).After treatment, the quality of life of the two groups was significantly improved , and the effect of the experimental group was more significant. The MMSE scores of the two groups were significantly higher than those of the control group (P<0.05).Conclusion Integrative Chinese and western medicine treatment of cerebral infarction after vascular dementia in patients with clinical efficacy is superior to western medicine alone .It can significantly improve the patients′daily life and quality of life , and improve the patients′mental state.
