MRI Diagnosis of 13 Cases of Central Pontine Myelinolysis
Abstract:Objective To investigate the change of magnetic resonance features and differential diagnosis of central pontine myelinolysis. Methods A retrospective analysis of 13 cases of CPM were collected from the medical records and clinical manifestations, and to summa-rize the change of magnetic resonance characteristics and pons disease. Results The main features of the image changes in 13 cases of central pontine myelinolysis are as follows: the center of the central line of the symmetrical T1WI has low signal, T2WI has high signal, T2FLAIR has high signal, and DWI has high signal or middle signal, etc.The main common disease causes are water and electrolyte disor-ders, especially low sodium and rapid correction of hyponatremia, and other causes are more common in chronic alcoholism, severe malnu-trition and infection, organ failure and so on.Conclusion The change of central pontine myelinolysis magnetic resonance has certain char-acteristics, but it should be identified according to the history and clinical manifestations.
