Abstract:Objective To investigate the effect of insulin pump use in orthopedic surgery perioperative diabetes .Met hods Selecting 46 cases of diabetic patients in orthopedics surgery from March,2012 to March, 2016 in the hospital. The patients were randomly divided into two groups: insulin pump group (n =23) and routine group (n =23).Patients in insulin pump group received insulin pump for blood glucose control, and routine group were treated with conventional multiple subcutaneous injection of insulin to control blood sugar.Treat-ment effects in the perioperative period of two groups were compared. Results The amount of insulin were significantly less than a conven-tional insulin pump group, P <0.05.Glycemic control in patients with insulin pump time was significantly higher than the conventional group, P <0.05.Insulin pump patients hospitalized days was significantly less than the conventional group, P <0.05.The incidence of hy-poglycemia of insulin pump patients and the incidence of wound infection were significantly lower compared with the conventional group, P<0.05.Conclusion The insulin pump can effectively reduce the amount of insulin in patients , improve glycemic control, reduce the in-cidence of adverse reactions in patients, and promote early discharge of patients.Orthopedic surgery can be used in perioperative diabetes .
