Significance and Application of Polyethylene Glycol Precipitation Method for Screening of Macroprolactin on Hyperprolactinemia
Abstract:Objective To use polyethylene glycol precipitation method to detect the existence of macroprolactin on hyperprolactinemia patients, and investigate the existence of macroprolactin on people with normal RPL result and pregnant women. Methods 192 HPRL pa-tients were collected as the experimental group and 200 normal PRL result patients were collected as the control group.30 cases of early, middle and late pregnant women groups were collected as the investigation group.PEG precipitation method was used to detect the recovery rate of PRL, and judged whether it contains M-PRL.Results In 192 patients with HPRL, 168 patients (87.50%) had a recovery rate>60%.15 patients (7.81%) had a recovery rate between 40%and 60%, and 9 patients (4.69%) had a recovery rate <40%.After treated by PEG, 141 cases still had an increased RPL and 51 cases were of normal RPL.In 200 cases in normal control group, there were 186 cases (93.0%) had recovery rate>60%, 12 cases (6.0%) had recovery rate between 40%and 60%, 2 cases (1.0%) had recovery rate<40%.The recovery rate of the pregnant women was all more than 60%.Conclusion PEG precipitation method can be used to screen M-PRL, which can distinguish the HPRL caused by prolactin or macroprolatin. It is helpful for the clinical diagnosis of hyperpro-lactinemia.
