Endovascular Stents in Arterial Injury of Nasopharyngea Carcinoma after Radiotherapy
Abstract:Objective To investigate the therapeutic effect of the endovascular stents for the cervical artery stenosis or oclussion of na-sopharyngeal carcinoma after radiotherapy.Methods The balloon angioplasty and endovascular stent implantation had been used success-fully to treat severe carotid stenosis or oclussion in patients with NPC after radiotherapy and then patients had been followed up.Results After the 24 months in the observation,restenosis in stents was not found.Conclusion The Endovascular stents may have immediate effect on arterial injury caused by radiation, and can be considered as a therapeutic option of choice in these cases.
