Clinical S ignificance of Ultrasound Screening of Severe Fetal Malformations During11 and 13 +6 Gestational Weeks
Abstract:Objective To investigate the value of 11~13 +6 gestational weeks screening for fetal malformation by transabdominal ultra-sound.Methods Totally, 2187 pregnant women(2200 fetuses) with 11~13 +6 gestational weeks were checked by transabdominal or trans-vaginal ultrasound. The outcome of fetuses were followed up by the second trimester ultrasound examination and pathological examination after induced labor or after birth confirmation. Results 14 prenatal abnormalities were detected, including 4 case with cervical cystic hy-groma,2 cases with cardiac abnormalities(1 cases with single ventricle, and left, right heart rate disorders with severe three tricuspid regur -gitation in 1case) , 2 cases with exencephaly, 1 case with encephalocele and meningoceles ,1 case with alobar holoprosencephaly,1 case with large bladder,1 case with omphalocele, 2 cases of clubfoot(1 fetus was misdiagnosed, and the second trimester ultrasound examination showed normal). Conclusion Screening by transabdominal ultrasound may detect serious fetal anatomy malformations, and early termina-tion of pregnancy can greatly reduce the physical and mental harm that may bring to the pregnant women.
