Clinical Significance of PCT in Serum of Infected Patients in PCNL
Abstract:Objective To explore the diagnostic value of procalcitonin( PCT) in postoperative infection of Percutaneous nephrostolithot-omy(PCNL).Methods 112patientswithPNCLwererandomlyselectedfromJanuarytoDecember,2013.Theyweredividedintoinfec-tion group and non-infection group by postoperative infections.Serum PCT levels were detected with electrochemiluminescence immunoas-say, WBC levels were measured with impedance method. Results The PCT levels of infection group (21.24 ±6.10) was significantly higher than that of non-infection group (0.17 ±0.03), with significant difference (P<0.01).There was no statistical significance in the levels of WBC between groups, but both of the results were significantly higher than reference value.ROC curve showed that diagnostic per-formance of PCT was superior to WBC.Conclusion Detection of serum PCT is helpful for diagnosis in postoperative infection of PCNL and shows the important reference significance for intervening infection as soon as possible.
