Abstract:Objective To compare the postoperative hip joint function recovery of senile intertrochanteric fractures treating by proximal femoral intramedullary nail and total hip replacement, and to analyze its influencing factors. Methods Dividing 160 senile patients with in-tertrochanteric fracture in the hospital from January, 2011 to December, 2011 into experimental group and control group, with 80 cases in each group. The former received the total hip replacement therapy, and the latter were treated with proximal femoral intramedullary nail. Observing indicators such as operation time, intraoperative blood loss, ambulation time, postoperative complications, hospitalization days of the two groups, and using MedliD′Aubigne score method to evaluate the hip joint function. Results Operation time of two groups was al-most the same and there was no statistically significant difference ( P>0.05);Compared with the control group, bleeding amount of experi-mental group patients was relatively more (P<0.05), and the bed activity time and hospitalization days were significantly reduced (P<0.05);The experimental group patients postoperative complications incidence of total significantly was lower than the control group ( P<0.05);The hip joint function recovery was significantly higher than the control group (P<0.05).Conclusion Total hip replacement for senile intertrochanteric fractures is better than the proximal femoral intramedullary nail.
