Application of Hemoglobin Release Test on Lightβ-Thalassemia

Abstract：Objective To investigate the significance of hemoglobin release test.Methods Agarose gel electrophoresis was done onβ-thalassemia erythrocyte , including the first electrophoresis , then the second or more electrophoresis.The observation of hemoglobin re-lease of mediterranean anemia in patients was done.Results By the second electrophoresis test , hemoglobin was released from origin.Through the study ,β-thalassemia hemoglobin release was far more than the normal release of hemoglobin.Conclusion In human red blood cells , hemoglobin in different state , after the first electrophoresis test , the vast majority of hemoglobin releases.Small amount of he-moglobin exists in red blood cells , and will be released fully by the second electrophoresis test.
