Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of acupoint plaster application combined with warming moxibustion in patients with acute phase of idiopathic facial paralysis presenting with wind-cold attacking superficial syndrome. Methods A random number table method was used to divide a total of 128 patients with acute stage of idiopathic facial paralysis into combined group(n=64)and control group(n=64).The control group was given basic treatment and warming moxibustion nursing, while the combined group received with acupoint plaster application combined with warm moxibustion on the basis of the control group's intervention. The facial nerve function, degree of facial disability, symptoms and clinical efficacy, nursing satisfaction and incidence of adverse events were compared between the two groups. Results After one month of intervention, the facial nerve function and clinical symptoms of the combined group were significantly improved compared with the control group(P<0.05),the clinical efficacy and nursing satisfaction of the combined group were higher than those of the control group(P<0.05),while the degree of facial disability and incidence of adverse reactions were lower than those of the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion Acupoint plaster application combined with warming moxibustion can effectively improve the facial nerve function of patients with idiopathic facial paralysis in the acute stage of wind-cold attacking superficial syndrome, relieve clinical symptoms, enhance clinical efficacy and nursing satisfaction, reduce the degree of facial disability, and lower the incidence of adverse reactions, while demonstrating superior safety. The study provides a high-quality Traditional Chinese Medicine combined nursing plan for the intervention of the disease in the acute stage.
