Abstract:Objective To explore the intervention effect of ultra-slow jogging based on the Behavior Change Wheel Theory on hospitalized overweight schizophrenia patients in the recovery period. Methods A total of 80 overweight schizophrenic patients in the recovery period in a hospital in Nanjing from March to April 2024 were selected and randomly divided into an observation group and a control group with 40 cases in each group using a random number table method. The control group received routine nursing care, while the observation group was given an ultra-slow jogging exercise intervention program based on the Behavior Change Wheel Theory on the basis of routine nursing care. The physiological indicators, biochemical indicators and health status of the two groups were compared before intervention,12 weeks,6 months and 1 year after intervention. Results After the intervention, the waist circumference, hip circumference,waist-hip ratio, body weight, body mass index(BMI),fasting blood glucose,2-hour postprandial blood glucose, glycated hemoglobin(HbA1c),total cholesterol, triglycerides and low-density lipoprotein(LDL)of the observation group were lower than those of the control group(P<0.01),and the high-density lipoprotein(HDL)was higher than that of the control group(P<0.01).The total scores of symptoms severity and rehabilitation efficacy of the observation group were lower than those of the control group(P<0.01),and the total score of self-efficacy was higher than that of the control group(P<0.01),and the effect was enhanced with the extension of intervention time. Conclusion Ultra-slow jogging based on the Behavior Change Wheel Theory can improve the physiological indicators, biochemical indicators, mental state and health status of hospitalized overweight schizophrenic patients in the recovery period, enhance their rehabilitation efficacy and self-efficacy,with the effects becoming more significant as the intervention duration increases.
