Abstract:Objective To analyze and define the conceptual connotation of the treatment burden for diabetic patients. Methods China National Knowledge Infrastructure,Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform,VIP Chinese Science and Technology Journal Database,Chinese Biomedical Literature Service System,PubMed,Web of Science,Embase,CINAHL,The Cochrane Library were systematically searched for literature related to the treatment burden of diabetic patients. The retrieval time limit was from the establishment of the database to July 30,2024.Rodgers evolutionary concept analysis method was used to analyze the included literatures. Results A total of 71 articles were included, and six antecedent factors of treatment burden for diabetic patients were summarized(demographic factor,treatment-related factor, lifestyle change, psychological factor, medical resource factor, and social-related factor),as well as four conceptual attributes(individual variability, dynamic changeability,multi-dimensional interweaving, and complex diversity).Ultimately, these factors not only had a direct impact on diabetic patients but also indirectly led to the waste of medical resources. Conclusion Clarifying the conceptual attributes of the treatment burden of diabetic patients through concept analysis can facilitate theoretical research on the treatment burden of diabetes, provide a basis for developing specific tools targeting the treatment burden of diabetic patients, and subsequently formulate targeted and effective intervention measures to alleviate the treatment burden of diabetic patients, improve their quality of life and treatment compliance.
