The Relationship between Nurses'Perceived Organizational Support,Resilience,and Emergency Response Capabilities in Public Health Emergencies in Southwest China:A Multi-center Study

Abstract:Objective To explore the mediating effect of resilience in the relationship between nurses'perceived organizational support and their emergency response capability for sudden public health emergencies.Methods A total of 3 154 nurses were surveyed using the General Information Questionnaire,the Perceived Organizational Support Scale,the Resilience Scale for Medical Staff,and the Nurses'Emergency Response Capability Scale for Public Health Emergencies.Results The scores of nurses'organizational support was(53.22±9.30),the scores of resilience was(76.66±11.61),and the scores of emergency response capability for public health emergencies was(70.74±10.81).There were pairnise a positive correlations among perceived organizational support,resilience and emergency response capability for public health emergencies(r1=0.581,r2=0.438,r3=0.614,all P<0.01).Resilience played a partial mediating effect between nurses'perceived organizational support and emergency response capability for public health emergencies,accounting for 72.20%of the total effect.Conclusion Nurses'emergency response capability for public health emergencies is at a upper middle level.Resilience is a mediator between perceived organizational support and emergency response capability for public health emergencies.lmproving nurses'resilience and perceived organizational support is an effective way to enhance their emergency response capability.
