Abstract:Spinal cord injury(SCI)patients often use metaphorical language to express the severity of their neuropathic pain(NP),which makes it difficult for healthcare professionals and family members to accurately assess the pain, severely impacting the patients'quality of life. The article summarizes the assessment of pain metaphors, the forms of metaphorical expression in SCI patients with NP,influencing fac-tors,and intervention strategies. It proposes suggestions such as developing targeted pain metaphor assessment tools, conducting multivariate a-nalysis of influencing factors, and formulating multidisciplinary integrated strategies.By enhancing pain neuroscience education for healthcare staff, accurately identifying metaphorical pain expressions in NP patients, and providing personalized nursing services, which to offer a refer-ence for future related research.
