Summary of the best evidence for the prevention and management of kinesophobia after hip and knee replacement surgery in the elderly

Abstract:Objective To use evidence-based methodology to search for the best evidence for the prevention and management of kine-sophobia in elderly patients after hip and knee replacement.Methods PIPOST model was used to search the relevant evidence-based data-base from high to low levels according to the "6S" evidence system hierarchy,to evaluate the quality of the included literature,extract core evidence,and systematically integrate it with expert judgment.The search period was from the inception of the database to October 10,2024.Results A total of 20 articles,including 3 guidelines,6 expert consensus,3 systematic reviews,4 evidence summaries,1 clinical decision,and 3 randomized controlled trial(RCT)were included.The best evidence was summarized from six aspects,namely psychological interven-tion,pre-rehabilitation,exercise management,pain management,nutrition intervention and rehabilitation treatment,and a total of 24 pieces of evidence were summarized.Conclusion The paper summarizes the best evidence for preventing and addressing kinesophobia in elderly pa-tients undergoing hip or knee replacement,which can provide clinical practice with evidence-based practice and provide patients with scien-tific and effective intervention measures to reduce the occurrence of kinesiophobia reactions and improve patients'overall health and future prognosis.
