Best evidence summary of pulmonary rehabilitation during mechanical ventilation in adult patients with severe pneumonia

Abstract：Objective To summarize the best evidence related to pulmonary rehabilitation during mechanical ventilation in adult pa-tients with severe pneumonia and to provide clinical guidance.Methods Literature regarding pulmonary rehabilitation during mechanical ventilation in adult patients with severe pneumonia was retrieved from domestic and foreign databases,with the search time limit from the es-tablishment of each database to December 31,2024.Two researchers evaluated the quality of the retrieved literature,extracted evidence,and summarized the findings.Results A total of 10 articles were included:1 clinical guideline,4 expert consensuses,1 systematic review,3 evi-dence summaries,and 1 clinical decision.Twenty-one pieces of evidence were extracted and synthesized into five categories:patient assess-ment,implementation content,intervention timing,monitoring and evaluation,and precautions.Conclusion The evidence summarized in the study covers key elements such as pre-rehabilitation assessment,rehabilitation content,intervention timing,and effect evaluation of pulmonary rehabilitation during mechanical ventilation in adult patients with severe pneumonia.It can provide an evidence-based foundation for clinical healthcare staff to implement targeted evidence application.
