Abstract:Objective To evaluate the clinical efficacy and safety of transcutaneous electrical acupoint stimulation(TEAS)interven-tion in alleviating postoperative pain following minimally invasive surgery(MIS)for hallux valgus, and to explore the role of integrative Chi-nese-Western analgesia in reducing the use of analgesic drugs. Methods A total of 96 patients who underwent MIS for hallux valgus under non-intubation general anesthesia in a tertiary grade A hospital from February 1,2021 to May 31,2022 were selected and divided into the ex-perimental group(n=48)and the control group(n=48)by random number table method. The control group received routine nursing, and the experimental group received basic TEAS.Pain intensity, foot and ankle function, and analgesic drug usage were compared between the two groups at baseline,1 day postoperatively, and 3 days postoperatively. Results The pain score in the experimental group was lower than the control group on postoperative days 1 and 3(P<0.05).The ankle function score in the experimental group was higher than the control group on postoperative day 3(P<0.05).The dosage of analgesic drug in the experimental group was lower than the control group(P<0.05).Conclusion TEAS can safely and effectively relieve postoperative pain of hallux valgus and reduce the dosage of analgesic drugs, which pro-vide an innovative non-pharmaceutical analgesic to facilitate accelerated recovery.
