Summary of the best evidence for the management of bladder function in patients of neurogenic bladder with spinal cord inju-ry

Abstract:Objective To provide relevant based evidence for nursing practice by summarized the evidence on the management of blad-der function in patients of neurogenic bladder with spinal cord injury.Methods The guidelines,expert consensus,evidence summary,system-atic reviews,and recommended practices on the management of bladder function in patients of neurogenic bladder with spinal cord injury were systematically searched from the inception of the database to December 20,2024.Results A total of 18 articles were included,including 4 guidelines,2 expert consensus,10 systematic reviews,and 2 evidence summaries,which summarized 22 best pieces of evidence from 6 topics that listed as catheterization management,assisted voiding management,urinary tract infection reduction management,bladder function reha-bilitation methods,monitoring and follow-up and health education.Conclusion The evidence summarized in the study on the management of bladder function in patients of neurogenic bladder with spinal cord injury can be used as a reference for the clinical nursing practice of blad-der function management.The medical staff should consider regional and economic differences based on the domestic clinical context and use translational evidence with caution.
