Construction of a nursing intervention program for anticipatory grief on the caregiver of cancer patient

Abstract：Objective To develop a nursing intervention program for anticipatory grief on caregivers of cancer patients,aim to alleviate grief-related emotions and improve their quality of life and caregiving quality.Methods Based on the integrative risk factor framework for the prediction of bereavement outcome and a summary of the best available evidence,an initial draft of the intervention program was developed.From December 2023 to April 2024,two rounds of Delphi expert consultations were conducted with 15 experts from Beijing,Liaoning,Jilin,and Hong Kong to finalize the program.Results The careging intervention program for anticipatory grief in cancer patient caregivers consisted of 4 intervention modules,6 intervention themes,and 33 intervention components.The response rate for both rounds of the Delphi survey were 100％,with an expert authority coefficient of 0.899.The Kendall coordination coefficients for the two rounds were 0.258 and 0.264(P＜0.001)individually.Conclusion The anticipatory grief nursing intervention program for caregivers of cancer patients is scientifically reliable,relieves caregivers of negative emotions,improves quality of life,and serves as a reference for caregivers of other chronically ill patients.
