The mediating effect on psychological capital between clinical communication competence and cultural nursing competence of special-ist nurses

Abstract：Objective To explore the mediating effect of relationship between clinical communication competence and cultural nursing competence of specialist nurses.Methods From June to August 2023,a total of 357 specialist nurses from the specialist nurse training class in Anhui Province were selected by convenience sampling method for investigation.The survey tools were the General Information Question-naire,Nurses' Clinical Communication Competence Scale,Psychological Capital Questionnaire and Nurses Cultural Competence Scale.Results The total score of clinical communication competence of specialist nurses was(239.45±28.69).The total score of psychological capital was(91.08±12.69).The total score of cultural nursing competence was(74.06±9.78).Clinical communication competence,psycho-logical capital,and cultural nursing competence were positively correlated(r1=0.668,r2=0.555,r3=0.574,all P＜0.001).The specialized nurses'psychological capital played a mediating role between clinical communication competence and cultural nursing competence,accounted for 43.62%of the total effect.Conclusion The scores of clinical communication competence and psychological capital of specialist nurses are above the medium level,and the cultural nursing competence is in the middle level.The specialized nurses'psychological capital is the media-ting variable between clinical communication competence and cultural nursing competence.Nursing managers should pay attention to the com-munication competence and psychological capital of specialist nurses,and formulate corresponding intervention measures to help them improve their cultural nursing competence and quality of nursing.
