The study of academic emotions and influencing factors on nursing students in colleges

Abstract:Objective To explore the situation and influencing factors of academic emotions among nursing students in colleges.Methods A total of 246 nursing students in colleges were collected by using cluster stratified sampling method.The general information questionnaire,an academic sentiment questionnaire and a professional identity questionnaire were provided in the investigation.Results The nursing students showed diversified academic emotions.There was a significant correlation between negative academic emotions and professional identity(P<0.001).Results of multiple linear regression analysis displayed that gender was a factor influencing positive low arousal(P<0.05),while academic performance,professional emotions,professional willpower,and professional skill were factors influencing the negative high a-rousal(P<0.05).Professional skill was the factor influencing the negative low arousal(P<0.05).Conclusion A high degree of negative aca-demic emotions among nursing students in vocational college has a significant impact on academic performance,professional emotions,profes-sional willpower and professional skill.In the process of nursing teaching,intervention strategies provided by educators should be formulated based on the academic emotions and its influencing factors of nursing students to ensure the quality of teaching.
