Effect of different teaching strategies on the Health Assessment curriculum for the nursing profession:A Network Meta-analy-sis

Abstract:Objective To evaluate the influence of different teaching strategies on the Health Assessment course of nursing profession by network Meta-analysis method.Methods A systematic search was conducted across multiple databases including Cochrane Library,PubMed,Embase,Web of Science,China Biomedical Literature Database,China National Knowledge Infrastructure,Wanfang Database,and Weipu Database.The search encompassed randomized controlled trials investigating the effectiveness of various teaching strategies in the Health Assessment curriculum for nursing students.The search period extended from the inception of the databases to May 13,2024.Following the search,articles were screened based on predefined inclusion criteria.The quality of the included studies was assessed utilizing the appro-priate quality evaluation tool provided by the evidence-based healthcare center of the Joanna Briggs Institute(JBI)in Australia.Finally,a network Meta-analysis was conducted using STATA 16.0 software.Results A total of 23 studies were included in the research,and the re-sults of network Meta-analysis showed that the optimal teaching mode that influenced the Health Assessment course of the nursing profession was the stimulates and maintains learning motivation mode.The most advantageous teaching methods for the theoretical course and practical course of Health Assessment for nursing profession were the mixed teaching based on rain classroom method and the flipped classroom teaching based on micro-lessons method.Conclusion For the Health Assessment course of nursing profession,the stimulating and maintaining learning motivation mode,the mixed teaching based on rain-based classroom method and the flipped classroom teaching based on micro-curriculum method should be combined to improve the teaching of Health Assessment course,and it is suggested that a more accurate teaching improve-ment strategy of Health Assessment course can be formulated based on evidence-based in the future.
