Psychological experience and support needs of postpartum return to work nurses:a Meta-synthesis of qualitative research

Abstract:Objective To summarize the psychological experience and support needs of nurses returning to work after childbirth,and provide a basis for developing management plans.Methods Search databases Cochrane Library,PubMed,Embase,Web of Science,Medline,China Biomedical Literature Database,China National Knowledge Infrastructure,Wanfang Database,and Weipu Database.Search for qualita-tive research on postpartum nurses'return to work experience and support needs in databases,with a search period from database establish-ment to October 18,2024.After evaluating the quality of the literature,the research results were summarized and interpreted using a central-ized integration method.Results A total of 19 articles were included,and 69 results,12 categories,and 3 integrated results were extracted:stressors of nurses returning to work after childbirth,negative effects of stressors on nurses returning to work after childbirth,and support needs for nurses returning to work after childbirth.Conclusion Nursing managers should pay attention to the psychological experience of nurses re-turning to work after childbirth,make scientific decisions,meet their needs,improve their self-efficacy and stress level,and enable them to a-dapt to clinical work as soon as possible.
