The study on related life quality of home enteral nutrition health in patients with inflammatory bowel disease

Abstract:Objective To investigate the current status of life quality that related to home enteral nutrition support for patients with in-flammatory bowel disease and analyze its influencing factors.Methods A total of 216 patients with inflammatory bowel disease who received home enteral nutrition support after discharge from a tertiary Class A hospital in Changchun city were surveyed by using general information questionnaires,Health-Related Quality of Life Questionnaire in patients with Home Enteral Nutrition,Multidimensional Scale of Perceived So-cial Support,Enteral Nutrition Compliance Questionnaire,Self-perceived Burden Scale and Stigma Scale for Chronic Illness.Results The quality of life score for patients with inflammatory bowel disease received home enteral nutrition support was(59.17±10.96).The quality of life related to home enteral nutrition support and enteral nutrition compliance were positively correlated with social support(P<0.01),and negatively correlated with self perceived burden and disease shame(P<0.01).The multiple linear regression analysis showed that enteral nu-trition mode,social support,home enteral nutrition compliance,self-perceived burden and stigma were influencing factors on the quality of life of inflammatory bowel disease patients received home enteral nutrition support(P<0.05).Conclusion Patients with inflammatory bowel dis-ease that receive home enteral nutrition support have a moderate quality of life.It recommends that patients choose appropriate enteral nutrition methods and take effective measures to improve their social support and compliance,reduce their self-perceived burden and stigma,and pro-mote their mental health.
