Abstract:Objective To explore the latent profile characteristics of the experience and support on nursing interns as second victims, and analyze the characteristic differences among different types of nursing interns. Methods From January to February 2024,a convenience sampling method was used to selected a total of 214 nursing students from 10 tertiary hospitals in Zhejiang Province and Hubei Province. The general information questionnaire, second victim experience and support tool and 10-item Connor-Davidson Resilience Scale(CD-RISC-10)were used as a latent profile analysis of the characteristics on nursing interns'experience and support as second victims. Results The experiences and support of nursing interns as second victims were divided into four latent profiles, including the"Imbalanced Distress-Ade-quate Support Group(22.90%)",the"Moderate Distress-Moderate Support Group(26.17%)",the"High Distress-Adequate Support Group(49.07%)",and the"Low Distress-Lack of Support Group(1.87%)".The 4 latent profiles differed in terms of whether the teaching instructors were senior nurses and in terms of psychological resilience. Conclusion There is heterogeneity in the experiences and support of nursing interns as second victims. It recommends that colleges and hospitals should formulate personalized intervention measures according to the individual characteristics of nursing interns to reduce the negative impacts brought by patient safety issues on nursing interns.
