Abstract:Objective To investigate the status of posttraumatic growth in elderly patients with initial hip fragility fracture after surger-y,and to analyze the factors influencing posttraumatic growth. Methods A survey was conducted using the general information questionnaire and Chinese-Post-Traumatic Growth Inventory(C-PTGI)among 208 elderly patients who underwent surgery with initial hip fragility fracture at the or thopedic ward of a tertiary hospital in Beijing. Results The posttraumatic growth score for elderly patients with initial hip fragility fracture after surgery was(44.49±5.35)points,which was significantly lower than the regional ideal norm score of accidental trauma patients in China.Age,marital status, and chronic disease types were influencing factors for posttraumatic growth in elderly patients with initial hip fra-gility fracture after surgery, explaining 86.6%of the variance in posttraumatic growth. Conclusion For elderly patients with initial hip fragili-ty fractures of the hip,the level of posttraumatic growth needs to be further improved.Researchers should pay attention to monitor and assess postoperative psychological status of patients, identify patients with low levels of posttraumatic growth thus accurately promoting rapid recovery of patients. And recommends incorporating multidimensional assessments such as psychological and social support into subsequent rehabilita-tion and follow-up process,in order to achieve a more comprehensive rehabilitation effect.
