The influence of hospital magnetic elements and hospital ethical atmosphere on the humanistic practice ability of nurses

Abstract：Objective To understand the current situation of nurses'humanistic practice ability,hospital magnetic elements and hospi-tal ethical atmosphere,to explore the influence of hospital magnetic elements and hospital ethical atmosphere on nurses'humanistic practice a-bility.Methods A questionnaire survey of 1 128 nurses from four tertiary hospitals in Xi'an was conducted using the General Information Questionnaire,the Nurses'Humanistic Practice Ability Scale,the Hospital Magnetic Elements Scale,and the Hospital Ethical Climate Scale.Results The score of humanistic practice ability was(92.71±16.73),the score of hospital magnetic level was(106.52±18.81),and the score of hospital ethical atmosphere was(103.91±22.43).The nurses'humanistic practice ability was positively correlated with hospital magnetic ele-ments and hospital ethical atmosphere(r1=0.436,r2=0.566,both P＜0.01),which main influencing factors were age,title,years of experience,hospital magnetic elements,and hospital ethical atmosphere(P＜0.001).Conclusion Nurses'humanistic practice ability is at a medium level,the hospital magnetic elements is at a medium level,and hospitals ethical atmosphere is at a high level.Administrators should further enhance nurses'humanistic practice ability through improving the magnetic elements and the ethical climate of hospitals,which are as an entry point.
