Analysis of potential categories of mental health among frontier officers and soldiers

Abstract:Objective To explore the potential category characteristics of mental health among frontier officers and soldiers,and ana-lyze the differences in characteristics among different potential categories of frontier officers and soldiers.Methods A cluster sampling meth-od was adopted to select the officers and soldiers stationed in Kashgar,Xinjiang as the survey objects from November 2019 to June 2020.The General Information Questionnaire,Self-Reporting Questionnaire 20,Psychological Stress Self-Evaluating Test and Connor-Davidson Resili-ence Scale were used in the investigation.Results A total of 767 frontier officers and soldiers were investigated,of which 84 frontier officers and soldiers'poor mental health status.The mental health of frontier officers and soldiers could be divided into three potential profiles:"low autonomy-high sense of value"(25.55%),"low happiness-high fatigue"(9.52%),and"good mental health"(64.93%).Multivariate Lo-gistic regression analysis showed that the growth location and psychological stress degree of frontier officers and soldiers were the influencing factors of different potential categories of mental health(P<0.05).Conclusion There are obvious classification characteristics in the mental health of frontier officers and soldiers,and individualized intervention can be carried out according to different types of characteristics.Researchers should focus on the frontier officers and soldiers who grow up in the city and have a high degree of psychological stress,dynami-cally grasp their mental health status and intervene in a timely manner.
