The application of"pen"catheterization combined with warm water injection in ultrasound-guided naso-jejunal nutrition tube implantation

Abstract：Objective To investigate the effect of"pen"catheterization combined with warm water injection in ultrasound-guided na-sojejunal nutrition tube placement.Methods A total of 86 patients hospitalized in the intensive care unit of the renal department of grade A tertiary hospital in Beijing from January 2022 to December 2022 who needed to have a naso-jejunal nutrition tube were selected as the study objects by convenience sampling.They were divided into observation group(40 cases)and control group(46 cases)by random number table method.The control group was treated with traditional linear propulsion technique,the observation group was treated with"pen"catheter placement technique combined with warm water injection.The catheter-guided implantation was observed by bedside ultrasound in both groups.The success rate of catheterization,rate of catheterization in place at one time,the time of catheterization,the rate of catheter develop-ment and the incidence of complications of catheterization were compared between the two groups.Results The success rate of catheteriza-tion,rate of catheterization in place at one time and the rate of catheter development in the observation group were higher than those in the control group(P＜0.01 or P＜0.05),the catheterization time was lower than that in the control group(P＜0.05).There was no significant difference in the incidence of catheterization complications between the two groups(P＞0.05).Conclusion The"pen"catheterization com-bined with warm water injection can improve the successful of catheterization rate and one time delivery rate,shorten operation time,increase rate of catheter development under ultrasound,it has no effect on complications and ensure the early safe and effective implementation of en-teral nutrition support for critically patients.
