Relationship between organizational support and thriving at work in operating room nurses:the moderating effect of profes-sional mission

Abstract:Objective To explore the current situation of organizational support,professional mission and thriving at work of nurses in operating room,and to analyze the mediating effect of professional mission between organizational support and thriving at work.Methods A total of 175 operating room nurses were investigated by General Information Questionnaire,Perceived Organizational Support Scale,Chinese Calling Scale and Thriving at Work Scale.Results The scores of organizational support,professional mission and thriving at work of operating room nurses were(44.76±6.87),(42.67±7.25)and(33.28±5.42),respectively.There was a pairwise positive correlation among organizational support,professional mission and thriving at work(r1=0.924,r2=0.876,r3=0.897,P<0.05).Professional mission played a partial mediating effect between organizational support and thriving at work,accounting for 33.55%of the total effect.Conclusion The thriving at work of op-erating room nurses is at a medium level,and the professional mission is the mediating variable between the organizational support and thri-ving at work.Nursing managers should pay attention to the organizational support for nurses to improve their professional mission and create a good working environment atmosphere to enhance the thriving at work.
