Meta-synthesis of qualitative research on horizontal violence suffered by new nurses

Abstract：Objective To systematically evaluate and integrate the inner experiences of newly recruited nurses suffering from lateral vi-olence,and provide evidence support for the development of effective measures to prevent and curb the occurrence of lateral violence.Methods Computer searches were conducted on PubMed,CINAHL,Web of Science,PsychoInfo,Embase,Cochrane Library,China National Knowledge Infrastructure,VIP Chinese Science and Technology Journal Database,Wanfang Data Knowledge Service Platform,and SinoMed to investigate the qualitative experiences of new nurses who experienced horizontal violence from January 1,2000 to April 1,2024.A Meta-analy-sis was used to analyze and integrate the research results.Results A total of 10 articles were included,and 39 themes and 18 sub themes were extracted,which were summarized into 13 new categories and integrated into 4 results:the manifestations of horizontal violence,the cau-ses of horizontal violence,the impact of horizontal violence,and the coping strategies for horizontal violence.Conclusion Hospital managers should provide comprehensive support and guidance to help new nurses correctly identify horizontal violence behavior,create a harmonious working atmosphere,pay attention to the negative impact of horizontal violence,and enhance effective coping strategies for new nurses.
