A study of the readiness for telehealth among medical staff in primary medical institutions in southern Sichuan and it's influen-cing factors

Abstract:Objective To investigate the current situation of medical staff's readiness for telehealth in primary medical institutions in southern Sichuan and analyze their influencing factors,so as to promote the development of telehealth services in primary medical institutions.Methods A total of 611 medical staff from 16 primary health service centers in southern Sichuan was investigated using stratified sampling method.The investigation was conducted using the general information questionnaire and Telehealth Readiness Assessment Tool.Results The total score of readiness for telehealth of medical staff in primary medical institutions in the southern Sichuan was(58.02±9.39)points.The re⁃sults of multiple linear regression showed that occupation category,years of work experience,average monthly income,understanding of tele⁃health,attitude towards the prospect of telehealth,and willingness to participate in telehealth were the main factors affecting the readiness for telehealth(P<0.05).Conclusion The readiness of medical staff in primary medical institutions in southern Sichuan for telehealth is at a low level.Relevant medical institutions should strengthen the optimal allocation of human resources,carry out multi-channel and multi-form tele⁃health education and training,improve the awareness of medical staff on telehealth,and mobilize the enthusiasm of medical staff to participate in telehealth,thereby promoting the development of telehealth services in southern Sichuan.
