The situation and influencing factors of intergroup tolerance among 415 adolescents

Abstract：Objective To explore the current situation and influencing factors of intergroup tolerance among adolescents,so as to pro-vide theoretical basis for improving the level of tolerance.Methods A convenient sampling method was used to selected adolescents from three ordinary public high schools in Xiangxi Prefecture Hu'nan Province from July to August 2022.A cross-sectional survey was conducted a-mong 415 adolescents by used general information questionnaire,Group Indentification Scale,the Moral Disengagement Scale and the Adoles-cent Mental Health Literacy Assessment Questionnaire.Results The total score of adolescents intergroup tolerance was 69.00(60.00,74.00),and the average score of items was 3.45(3.00,3.70).Among them,the highest score of group cognition was 4.00(3.00,4.00),and the lowest score of group self-esteem was 2.80(2.40,3.00).Multiple linear regression analysis showed that adolescents'intergroup tolerance was influ-enced by grade,gender,family monthly income,moral disengagement and mental health promotion(P＜0.05).Conclusion The overall level of intergroup tolerance of adolescents needs improve.For schools,it should cooperate with parents and society to adopt target mental health promotion interventions to guide adolescents to establish correct moral cognitive tendencies and enhance the level of intergroup tolerance of adolescents.
