Abstract:Objective To translate the Aversion to Bowel Cancer Screening Scale into Chinese(ABCSS)and test its reliability and va-lidity.Methods Based on Brislin model, the ABCSS was translated,back-translated and culturally adjusted to form the Chinese version of the scale.A total of 378 community residents in a community in Yuncheng were selected by convenience sampling and investigated to calculate the reliability and validity of the Chinese version of ABCSS.Results The Chinese version of ABCSS included 16 items in three dimensions:Bowel Cancer Screening aversion, colonoscopy aversion and health consciousness. The results of exploratory factor analysis showed that the cu-mulative variance contribution rate of the three common factors was 74.20%,and the loading value of each item on its common factor was>0.4.The confirmatory factor analysis showed that the model fitted well. The Cronbach's α coefficient of the total scale was 0.911,and the Cron-bach's α coefficient of each dimension was 0.862~0.933.The split-half reliability of the total scale was 0.922,and the split-half reliability of each dimension was 0.893~0.918.The content validity index of each item in the scale was>0.830,and the content validity index of the total scale was 0.927.Conclusion The Chinese version of ABCSS is simple, convenient and has good reliability and validity. It can use to assess the aversion level of colorectal cancer screening among community residents.
