Investigation and analysis of current situation of radiation protection knowledge and attitude of medical staff in interventional diagnosis and treatment

Abstract：Objective To investigate the status quo of knowledge and attitude of medical staff on radiation protection in interventional diagnosis and treatment,and to provide reference for the formulation of radiation protection policy in interventional diagnosis and treatment.Methods A total of 375 medical personnel engaged in interventional diagnosis and treatment in eastern,central and western China were sur-veyed by self-compiled questionnaire.Results Medical personnel in interventional diagnosis and treatment had a low level of knowledge of radiation protection,with scores ranged from 1 to 9(4.45±1.47)points.Interventional medical personnel believed that comprehensive radia-tion protection and the maintenance of radiation protection equipment was very important,and supported the use of comprehensive radiation protection equipment,but there was confusion about the usage of radiation protection equipment.Correlation analysis showed that the knowl-edge of radiation protection was negatively correlated with the attitude of supporting comprehensive radiation protection(P＜0.01 or P＜0.05).The results of multiple linear regression showed that the main factors affecting the radiation protection knowledge of medical personnel in inter-ventional diagnosis and treatment was geographical distribution.The main factors affecting the radiation protection attitude of medical staff in in-terventional diagnosis and treatment was working years.Conclusion The radiation protection knowledge level of medical staff in interventional diagnosis and treatment is low.The radiation health supervision and administration departments and the units conducting interventional diagnosis and treatment should carry out comprehensive and effective radiation protection knowledge training,formulate scientific and reasonable radiation protection programs,and correctly guide the use and maintenance of interventional radiation protection equipment based on clinical practice.
