Dementia literacy among the elderly:a literature review

Abstract：As a common chronic disease in the elderly,dementia not only seriously affected the quality of life of the elderly,but also in-creased the socioeconomic burden.Focusing on dementia literacy could help delay the onset of dementia and improve the adverse outcomes of dementia in older adults,and it had gradually become one of the focuses and hotspots of current research.The article reviewed the concept of dementia literacy,assessment tools,current research status and influencing factors.It proposed to pay more attention to dementia literacy,ac-tively developed localized assessment tools for dementia literacy,and diversified the influencing factors of dementia literacy,to provide refer-ences for the development of dementia literacy related research and the construction of effective intervention programs.
