The study on Actor-Partner Interdependence Model of binary coping and psychological resilience level in pregnant women with threatened preterm labor and their spouses

Abstract:Objective To analyze the effects of binary coping of pregnant women with preterm labor and their spouses on their psycholog-ical resilience levels that based on the Actor-Partner Interdependence model(APIM),to develop effective intervention programs to improve cou-ples'level of coping with preterm labor incident.Methods Using convenience sampling method,260 pregnant women and their spouses diag-nosed with threatened preterm labor at a tertiary A maternal and child specialty hospital in Shanxi Province from March to October 2023 were se-lected as the research subjects.A survey was conducted by using a general information questionnaire,a binary coping scale,and a psychological resilience scale.Through Actor-Partner interdependence model,the impact of binary coping between pregnant women with preterm labor and their spouses on psychological resilience level was analyzed.Results The total binary coping scores of pregnant women and their spouses were(115.95±12.26)and(116.75±6.88),respectively;the scores of on psychological resilience levels were(58.57±6.61)and(62.18±5.72)re-spectively.The binary coping between pregnant women with preterm labor and their spouses could positively affect their own psychological resili-ence level(β1=0.242,β2=0.147;P<0.05),the subject effect was significant,and also positively affect the psychological resilience level of their spouses(β1=0.126,β2=0.225;P<0.05),the object effect was also significant.Conclusion The coping styles of pregnant women with pre-term labor and their spouses are closely related to the psychological resilience of the subject and the object,and obstetricians should pay early attention on the psychological status of couples with preterm labor,and intervene with pregnant women and theirspouses as a whole.
