Abstract:Objective To translate the English version of the Stillbirth Stigma Scale(SSS)into Chinese, and test its reliability and va-lidity.Methods The Chinese version SSS was developed through cultural debugging, expert consultation, and pre-surveys,and questionnaire was conducted among 349 women experiencing perinatal loss using convenience sampling to test the reliability and validity of the scale. Results The Chinese version SSS consisted of 20 entries, and 4 common factors were extracted by exploratory factor analysis, with a cumula-tive variance contribution rate of 68.46%.The validated factor analysis model fit was 1.611 for x2/df,0.053 for RMSEA,0.895 for GFI.The to-tal Cronbach's alpha coefficient of the scale was 0.920,and the folded half reliability was 0.820,and retest reliability was 0.809,respectively.The scale-level content validity index/average was 0.975,and item-level content validity index ranged from 0.833 to 1.000.The criterion va-lidity correlation coefficient was-0.379.Conclusion The Chinese version SSS has good reliability and validity, and can be used as a meas-ure of stigma in patients with perinatal loss.
