The influence of active aging and social support on the frailty of the elderly in community

Abstract：Objective To understand the current situation of elderly frailty in the community and analyze the impact of active aging and social support on the frailty of elderly people in the community.Methods Using convenience sampling method,886 elderly people from two community health service centers in Tangshan City were selected as the research subjects.The general situation questionnaire,Tilburg Weakness Assessment Scale,Active Aging Scale and Social Support Assessment Scale were used for investigation and analysis.Results The frailty score of the elderly in community was 7.00(4.00,10.00),the total score of active aging was(104.00±18.32)and the total score of so-cial support was(38.72±9.90).The frailty score of community elderly was negatively correlated with active aging(r=-0.653,P＜0.01)and social support(r=-0.507,P＜0.01).Multiple linear regression analysis showed that gender,chronic disease,living alone,medical burden,number of falls,active aging,social support were the factors that influence the frailty of the elderly.Conclusion The community elderly frailty score is high,active aging and social support level needs to be improved,medical staff can improve the active aging and social support level of the elderly,to slow down the process of elderly frailty to the greatest extent.
