Study on status quo and influencing factors of safety behaviors of nurses in children's hospital

Abstract:Objective To identify the safety behavior status and its influencing factors on nurses in children's specialized hospital.Methods A total of 516 nurses in a third-grade class-A children's hospital were surveyed using general information questionnaire,Nurse Safety Behavior Questionnaire,Patient Safety Culture Assessment Scale and Utrecht Work Engagement Scale.Results The score of safety be-havior was(56.50±4.52).Nurse safety behavior had a significant positive correlation with work engagement(r=0.426,P<0.01)and safety culture perception(r=0.319,P<0.01).Multiple regression analysis showed that age,only child,perceived safety culture and work engagement were the influencing factors of safety behaviors among nurses in children's hospital(P<0.05).Conclusion Nursing managers should take pertinent management and training measures according to the influencing factors of nurses'safety behavior in children's hospital,to improve nurses'safety behavior and ensure patients'safety.
