Study on the status quo and influencing factors of health literacy in patients with psoriasis

Abstract:Objective To explore the current status and influencing factors of health literacy among psoriasis patients,and to provide reference for the development of targeted health management interventions.Methods A total of 258 psoriasis patients who came from the de-partment of dermatology in two tertiary hospitals of Liaoning Province were investigated with general information questionnaire,Health Literacy Scale Chronic Patients,and General Self-Efficacy Scale.Results The score of health literacy in psoriasis patients was 103.00(97.00,108.25).The self-efficacy score was(28.47±6.66).Health literacy score in each dimension and the total score were positively correlated with self-efficacy scores(P<0.01).Multiple linear regression analysis showed that gender,education level and self-efficacy were influencing factors of health literacy in patients with psoriasis(P<0.01).Conclusion The health literacy of patients with psoriasis is at a medium level,and is affected by gender,education level and self-efficacy.Medical staff should adopt individualized nursing intervention and management according to different influencing factors to further improve the health literacy level of patients.
