Abstract:Objective To explore the application effect of nursing intervention using the Health Action Process Approach(HAPA)theory in patients with liver cirrhosis. Methods A total of 82 patients with liver cirrhosis who were hospitalized in the Department of Gastro-enterology of a grade A tertiary hospital in Shanxi Province from February to September 2022 were selected as the research objects by conven-ience sampling method.According to the random number table method, they were divided into the control group(41 cases)and the experi-mental group(41 cases).Control group carried out routine nursing intervention, while experimental group implemented nursing intervention based on HAPA as the basic framework on the basis of routine nursing, including the pre-intention stage, intention stage and action stage of self-management of liver cirrhosis patients. The self-management ability,self-efficacy,quality of life and unplanned readmission rate 3 months after intervention were compared between the two groups. Results Before the intervention, there were no statistically significant differences in each index between the two groups(P>0.05).One month and three months after intervention, the scores of self-management a-bility,self-efficacy and quality of life of patients in the experimental group were higher than those in the control group, and the unplanned re-admission rate of patients in the experimental group was lower than that in the control group 3 months after intervention, and the differences were statistically significant(P<0.05).Over time, the scores of self-management ability,self-efficacy and quality of life of patients with liver cirrhosis in the two groups gradually increased, and there was an interaction between time and group(P<0.001).Conclusion Health educa-tion based on HAPA has a positive effect on the health behavior of patients with liver cirrhosis, which can effectively improve patients'self-management ability and self-efficacy,improve their quality of life, and reduce the unplanned readmission rate of patients.
