Construction and clinical application study for NEWS-based emergency early warning systems

Abstract:Objective To explore the practice and effect of building emergency early warning system based on NEW.Methods Based on literature research and Delphic method,a news-based hierarchical warning and intervention plan for emergency patients was developed,and an emergency early warning information system was constructed for clinical application.A quasi-experimental study method was used to select 1 131 patients who met the admission criteria for emergency observation and rescue in the emergency room of a grade-Ⅲ grade A gen-eral hospital in Nanjing from March to May 2020 as the intervention group,and 1 005 patients who met the admission criteria for emergency observation and rescue in the same period one year before operation from March to May 2019 as the control group.The patients in both groups received nursing care according to the requirements of graded nursing system and the routine of emergency specialized nursing,and the inter-vention group applied the emergency early warning system on the basis.Results The frequency of vital signs measurement and success rate of rescue in the intervention group were significantly higher than those in the control group,the incidence of nursing adverse events was signifi-cantly lower than that in the control group,and the six different dimensions of safety attitude of emergency medical staff were improved,with statistical significance(P<0.05).Conclusion Emergency early warning system can improve the safety attitude of medical staff,reduce the occurrence of adverse nursing events,improve the frequency of vital signs measurement and rescue success rate of emergency patients,and en-sure the prognosis and safety of patients.
