A study on the current situation and influencing factors of cancer prevention and control knowledge among community resi-dents in China

Abstract：Objective To explore the status of knowledge on cancer prevention among community residents,and to provide reference for cancer prevention.Methods A total of 1 014 community residents in 31 provinces and autonomous regions were surveyed by self-de-signed questionnaire on knowledge status of cancer prevention and treatment.Results The awareness rate of cancer prevention was 86.19％,including prevention knowledge(85.11％),related risk factors and prevention(86.88％),screening,early diagnosis and early treatment(85.50％),and treatment and rehabilitation(87.28％).Logistic regression analysis showed that age,gender,marital status,education level,family history of cancer,whether the cancer was diagnosed as malignant cancer were the factors affecting the knowledge of cancer prevention.Conclusion The overall level of cancer prevention knowledge among community residents is relatively high.Community residents under 39 years old,male,unmarried,low education level,no family history of cancer,and not diagnosed with malignant cancer need to improve canc-er prevention knowledge.It is suggested to adopt diversified health education forms to popularize cancer prvention knowledge for key vulnera-ble groups,and promote the health of the whole people.
