A study on present situation and influencing factors of intercultural sensitivity of 971 undergraduate practice nursing students in Kunming

Abstract：Objectives To investigate the intercultural sensitivity status of undergraduate practice nursing students in Kunming and an-alyze its influencing factors.Methods From May to July 2021,971 undergraduate practice nursing students in Kunming were selected by convenient sampling method.The general information questionnaire and Intercultural Sensitivity Scale(ISS)were used to conduct the survey.The collected data were analyzed by independent sample t-test,one-way ANOVA and multiple linear regression.Results The intercultural sensitivity score of undergraduate practice nursing students was(150.65±18.73).The results of multiple linear regression analysis showed that English proficiency,leaming experience of bilingual courses,and experience of contact with patients from ethnic minorities or different nation-alities during intemships were the main influencing factors of intercultural sensitivity of undergraduate practice nursing students(P＜0.01 or P＜0.05).Conclusion The intercultural sensitivity of undergraduate practice nursing students need to be improved.Multi-dimensional and multi-faceted training methods should be gradually constructed to improve the intercultural sensitivity of practice nursing students.
