Study on the status and influencing factors of expected outcomes in patients with first total knee replacement

Abstract:Objective To investigate the status of expected outcome in patients with first total knee replacement and analyze its influ-encing factors.Methods The general data questionnaire,Chinese version of the Special Surgery Hospital Knee Replacement Patients Expec-tations Questionnaire,Brief Illness Perception Questionnaire,Chinese version of the Toronto Alexithymia Scale and MOS36-item Short Form Health Survey were used to investigate the patients with the first total knee replacement.Results The score of expected outcome was(88.90±12.51).The scores of disease perception,alexithymia and quality of life were negatively correlated with the expected outcome(P<0.05).Multiple linear regression analysis showed that age,degree of education,working status,disease perception,alexithymia and quality of life were the factors influencing expected outcome in patients with first total knee replacement(P<0.01 or P<0.05).Conclusion The level of expected outcome in patients with first total knee replacement is relatively high.Medical staff should timely analyze the influencing factors of patients'ex-pectation of the treatment and take targeted measures to guide patients to establish reasonable expectation,so as to promote their recovery.
