Mediating effect of self-acceptance between family adaptability and cohesion and health-promoting lifestyle in colorectal canc-er survivors

Abstract：Objective To explore the mediating effect of self-acceptance between family adaptability and cohesion and health-promo-ting lifestyle among colorectal cancer survivors.Methods A total of 216 colorectal cancer survivors from 3 Grade A hospital in Shandong were investigated by general information questionnaire,Family Adaptability and Cohesion Evaluation Scales,Self-Acceptance Questionnaire and Health Promotion Lifestyle Profile Ⅱ.Results The score of family adaptability and cohesion,self-acceptance and health-promoting lifes-tyle in the colorectal cancer survivors were(116.03±15.93),(39.84±5.42)and(118.02±21.29)respectively,and they were positively cor-related with each other(P＜0.01).Self-acceptance played a partial mediating role between family adaptability and cohesion and health-pro-moting lifestyle,and the mediating effect accounted for 21.09％of the total effect.Conclusion Self-acceptance is a mediator variable be-tween family adaptability and cohesion and health-promoting lifestyle in colorectal cancer survivors.Medical staff should improve family func-tion of colorectal cancer survivors,improve self-acceptance level,and promote them to establish the health-promoting lifestyle,so as to in-crease the quality of life of survival patients.
