Study on the relationship between self-compassion and quality of life among nurses in oncology department

Abstract:Objective To investigate the status of self-compassion and quality of life among oncology nurses, and to analyze the relationship between them.Methods Totally, 223 oncology nurses were investigated by the general information questionnaire, the Self-Compassion Scale (SCS) and WHO Quality of Life Scale.Results The total score of SCS for 223 oncology nurses was (90.47±7.01), in the medium level.The total score of quality of life was (13.11±0.77).Pearson correlation analysis showed that self-compassion was positively correlated with quality of life (P<0.01 or P<0.05).Conclusion The self-compassion and quality of life level need to be improved.Health department should pay attention to nurses' self-compassion level, so as to enhance their quality of life.
