The application of Conceive-Design-Implement-Operate model on practice teaching in nursing students

Abstract：Objective To explore the effects of Conceive-Design-Implement-Operate ( CDIO) model on practice teaching in nursing students.Methods Totally,203 nursing students were recruited and divided into control group(n=101) and experimental group (n=102). The experimental group received CDIO model,including conceive-design-implement-operate program,achieved the combination of theory and skill through two rounds of teaching cycles.The control group were taught by traditional teaching mode.After the end of the course,the the-ory and skill examination scores, self-regulated learning ability in two groups were compared. Results The theory and skill examination scores,self-regulated learning ability between two groups were significantly different,the experimental group had higher scores than the con-trol group (P<0.01).Conclusion The CDIO teaching model was better than traditional teaching mode,it can improve the level of theory, skill and self-regulated learning ability in nursing students.
